The Ritter Icaro 7 slicer is suitable for those who need to save space, using the slicer only when necessary and then placing it comfortably in a drawer. In fact, this appliance closes on itself, becoming thin and giving the possibility of having a slicer at home without occupying a good part of the kitchen worktop. This feature, although very desirable, does not come for free: the price of the Ritter Icaro 7 is high-end, but the overall performance, unfortunately, is not. | ||||
Ritter Icaro 7 - Our independent review
If for the quality of your kitchen you don't mind spending, the Icaro 7 model is for you. Entirely in metal and completely resealable, it is the closest thing to a professional slicer that can be contained in so little space.
The Ritter Icaro 7 is a vertical slicer, which has the main feature of being able to close the appliance on itself, to save space and store it in a drawer. The motor, with only 65 watts of power, is energy-saving. The blade, wavy and more suitable for bread than for sausages or meats, has a diameter of 7 inches. The collection tray and the cutting surface can be closed to make the Icaro 7 slightly larger than a video cassette. Compared to the lower model of the same brand, the load capacity increases; however, the thickness of the maximum cut decreases, this time by only 14 mm, more than enough, however, both for meat and for bread. The switch has a particular safety function, making it impossible for children to turn it on. There are no additional blades, but they can be purchased separately.
Built with excellent materials, the Ritter Icaro 7 is a high-end slicer. By buying it online, you can save money, thanks to the Amazon discounts that are quite frequent. In our opinion, however, the list price is too high, given the size of the slicer. Only to be purchased when the discount justifies it.
The opinions of Amazon customers who have purchased this product are overall good, but there are those who complain of the low power (65 watts) which, in fact, is a little bit for a high-end slicer.
Excellent for lightness and for saving space, but don't think you can slice a whole ham from the beginning, before having reduced it into smaller pieces. Recommended purchase on promotion, not full price.
